Swan Hill Victoria
We headed off early and stopped at Kerang for morning tea. We arrived in Swan Hill early afternoon and stayed in a pretty little caravan park. After some school work for the kids, we listened to the Melbourne Cup as you do. After gathering supplies in town we spent a quiet afternoon/evening in the caravan park swimming, playing cricket and dinner at the camp kitchen.
The next day we checked out the town centre including visiting “the big cod”, a Burke and Wills memorial (they really gave Burke a verbal serve for his mistakes) and the largest Moreton Bay tree in the southern hemisphere.

After lunch, we visited an animal farm and as an Easts supporter, I had to have my picture taken with the rooster. We were kindred spirits from the moment we met and he confided in me that he too like many others felt the NRL had shamelessly set things up for a Souths premiership win (check for and against penalties for the year) because it was too good a rugby league story.  What an farce.
After dinner at the camp we went on a beautiful river walk along the Murray. Of course as lovely as the scenery was, it pales in comparison to the loveliness of Mrs Burton.

That evening we attended the light and sound show at the Pioneer Village (an Old Sydney Town replica).

That ended a very nice day and an enjoyable stay at Swan Hill.

Next stop Mildura

  1. Hello Burton Family,
You have been busy bees, non-stop action. I think you need to find time to get a haircut and shave Rod. Maybe Georgia could work out a new up style if you want to keep the locks. Glad to see you are still in one peace and still smiling. Love Faun and George.
